Meet Your Head Instructor

Meet Ella, owner, and head Reformer Pilates Instructor of TRS Pilates Ballarat. Ella is not your everyday Pilates instructor, she offers a unique blend of expertise to the world of fitness and well-being.


Achieving a master’s degree in Nursing Practice along with a Post Graduate Diploma of Mental Health, Ella became a Nurse Practitioner, specialising in drug, alcohol and mental health for over a decade. Consequently, Ella brings a deep understanding of holistic health to the Pilates world. In addition to her Pilates expertise, she is a recognised Cosmetic Injector with Eluminate Cosmetic Injectables and a Cosmetic prescriber for one of Australia’s largest script providers.


Her journey into the Pilates scene began over a 15 years ago when she was a State Basketball athlete.

Seeking ways to enhance her athletic performance and overall wellness, she discovered the transformative power of Reformer Pilates, igniting a passion that would shape her career.


Ella's dedication to mastering Pilates led her to complete her Certificate IV in Reformer and Mat Pilates, going on to qualify in the Diploma of Clinical Pilates. Armed with her practical and theoretical understanding of Pilates principles and techniques, she decided to share her love for the practice with others.


In 2019 Ella’s dream was realised when she opened her first Pilates Studio, Two Red Springs Pilates, in Pascoe Vale. Through dedication and hard work, Ella's studio swiftly rose to prominence, earning a reputation as one of Melbourne’s premier Pilates destinations. Two Red Springs Pilates commitment to excellence and the exceptional Reformer Pilates experience her team provides became evident with high client attraction.


Supported by overwhelming demand and her desire to share her passion for group exercise, Ella unveiled

TRS Pilates Ballarat in 2022, bringing the highest standard of reformer classes Ballarat has to offer.

This new addition allowed Ella to reach even more individuals, empowering them to experience the life changing benefits of Pilates.

A Modern Studio with

Classic Reformer Pilates

TRS Pilates Studio

TRS stands for Two Red Springs as they are the two strongest springs on the reformer pilates apparatus and thats exactly what our studio is about, building strong bodies and minds for the people in our community. After creating such a welcoming and community minded space in our first studio Two Red Springs Pascoe Vale, we wanted to bring that same atmosphere to the local residence of our home town Ballarat.


TRS Pilates Ballarat is a 12 bed reformer Pilates studio. Our experienced instructors can cater for any level from the absolute beginner, pre/post natal or to the more experienced Pilates client. reformer Pilates is a fun way to get a solid workout that is gentle on the joints so you can maintain consistent practice. After just a few sessions members often report less back pain, reduced stress, improved strength and better sleep.

At TRS we understand starting Pilates group exercise can feel a little daunting. Particularly if you've never used a Reformer Pilates Bed.

But there's no need to worry, our qualified Pilates Reformer Instructors have got you covered.

When you arrive, simply remind our teachers that you're new to Pilates and they will give you a full orientation of the Reformer Pilates Machine.

  • What is Reformer Pilates?

    The name Pilates originates from inventor Joseph Pilates. Reformer Pilates intergrates traditional Pilates movements with what we now know as the Reformer Pilates machine. Reformer Pilates is one of the most effective low impact forms of group exercise one can do. 

  • Is Reformer Pilates a good workout?

    Reformer Pilates has been an effective workout for around 100 years. Known for being low impact in nature, Reformer Pilates has proven to strenghtnen and shape the body, eliminate back pain, rehabilitate injuries, improve pre and post prenancy outcomes, improve mental health and more. 

  • Does Reformer Pilates burn belly fat?

    Short anwser is YES, but let explore it further. 

    If you are carrying weight and have never done Reformer Pilates before, the chances are you will notice a shift in your belly after just a couple of sessions, which may feel like you have lost weight.


    More likely than not, that will be your core adapting to the exercise you've done as it begins to strengthen and tighten, drawing itself back towards the body.


    When it comes to weight loss, one cannot spot reduce. Meaning, you cannot simply lose weight from one area alone. Weightloss is achieved holisticly and those hard to reach areas such as the belly and arms are generally the hardest and last areas to move.

  • What is the difference between Pilates & Reformer Pilates?

    The difference between mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates is significant. Mat Pilates uses the body for resistance and can be plyometric at times. Whereas, Reformer Pilates utilises bodyweight AND the Reformer Pilates machine which consists of a variety of springs, straps and other props. 

  • Is Reformer Pilates for beginners?

    TRS Pilates Ballarat caters for ALL levels including beginners. The great thing about Reformer Pilates is that exercises are progressive and layered, which means anyone can be involved regardless of experience. Simply advise your instructor before the class starts so exercises can be modified accordingly. 

  • Will I lose weight doing Pilates Reformer?

    The short anwser is YES. However, you will see the best results in conjunction with a nutritional, high desntiy low calorie meal plan that becomes a way of life. To maintain and continue to lose weight you will need to maintain a calorie deficit. Feel free to speak with our TRS instructors to learn more.  

  • How many times per week should I do Pilates?

    We encouraged our clients to attend as many classes as they like each week. One class per week is better than no classes as you will be moving and strenghening your body. However, to expereince the full benifits of Reformer Pilates and more, TRS Pilates Ballarat recommends at least 3 classes per week. We offer a range of class times for you to manage 3 classes AND we also offer 4 different types of classes, Classic, Power, Endurance and Stretch & Restore. Attending 3 classes per week, across a range of different Pilates classes will allow your body to rapidly adapt so you can reap the benifits.
